Jammu, Oct 18- Senior Congress leaders led by Chief Spokesperson of the party Mr Ravinder Sharma Ex MLC and Senior Advocate Shah Mohammed Chaudhary today met the Returning Officer 77 – Nagrota Assembly constituency and sought action against the erring offcials of Nagrota, who harassed the Congress office bearers and disrupted the functioning of the Block Congress Offices at Ghaink ,Amb Gharota and Nagrota.
The Congress leaders asked the RO to take strict action as per norms against the erring officials who acted in violation of ECI norms and harassed the congress workers incharge party’s offices ncluding Anmol Singh at Ghaink ans disrupted the working of office and damaged the property apart from illegally detaining the party leader.
The Congress leaders apprised the Returning Officer about the formal complaint to the CEO J&K & DEO Jammu on 14 th October, regarding the threats by the concerned Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar but despite this Naib Tehsildar Kikar Singh alongwith police team barged into party office on 16th Oct ,late night and tore off the banners and posters of our party leaders and misbehaved with the workers. They expressed concern and anguish over the inaction of election machinery, so far and demanded appropriate action without delay.
The Returning Officer acknowledged the receipt of complaint by the party and assured appropriate action as per norms.
