Nighat Mir extends warm greetings on Diwali festival.

Srinagar, October 19:— Former Municipal Councillor Baramulla and noted social activist Nighat Mir today extended warm Diwali festival greetings to people across the country, calling for unity, compassion, and renewed commitment to social welfare during the festival of lights.

In her message, Nighat Mir emphasized Diwali’s spirit of hope and collective responsibility. She urged citizens to use the occasion to reach out to the underprivileged, support local communities, and strengthen bonds across social and cultural lines. Mir highlighted the importance of inclusive celebrations that honor tradition while promoting safety and environmental care.

“Diwali is a time to light lamps not just in our homes, but in the lives of those who need support,” said Nighat Mir. “This festival reminds us that small acts of kindness can dispel darkness. I encourage everyone to celebrate safely, consider the environment, and extend help to vulnerable families in our neighborhoods. Together, we can build a kinder and more resilient society.”

Mir also reaffirmed her commitment to ongoing social initiatives in Baramulla and surrounding areas. She outlined plans to partner with local organizations to distribute essential items to low-income families and organize community events that foster cultural exchange and mutual respect. Her appeal included a call for volunteers and donations to support these efforts, focusing on transparent and community-led delivery.

The social activist drew attention to safety and environmental concerns linked to festival activities. She encouraged residents to adopt eco-friendly practices, minimize noise pollution, and prioritize the well-being of children, elderly people, and animals during festivities. Mir stressed that mindful celebrations preserve cultural heritage while protecting public health and the local environment.

Nighat Mir’s Diwali message follows her long-standing engagement in civic work and public service. Known for advocacy on social welfare, education, and community development, she continues to work with citizens, youth groups, and non-governmental organizations to address local challenges and promote inclusive growth.
