Srinagar, Aug 7: In view of the recent cloudbursts and flash floods in Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has ordered contributions from judges and judicial staff towards the relief fund of the Government.
As per an order, High Court Judges will contribute Rs 20,000 each, District Judges Rs 10,000, Civil Judges (Senior Division) Rs 7,000, Civil Judges (Junior Division) and Gazetted Officers Rs 5,000 each, while non-gazetted staff will contribute Rs 1,000.
The collected amount will be deposited in JK Bank, High Court Complex, Srinagar.
Members of the High Court Bar Association and District Bar Associations have also been requested to contribute voluntarily.
The Registrar General will later issue a consolidated cheque to the Government of J&K on behalf of the judiciary.
